Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund (AMIF)
The Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund (AMIF) aims to put in place a fairer and more integrated European approach to manage migration and asylum. It also aims to provide a humane and effective long-term response to current challenges of irregular migration, developing legal migration pathways, better integrating refugees, as well as deepening migration partnerships with countries of origin and transit for mutual benefit.
AMIF is set up for the period 2021-2027, with a total initial EU Allocation of EUR 9.9 billion. The Member States programmes account for a large share of these resources, as a result of their initial allocations and top-ups from the Thematic Facility, which is a flexibility instrument under the Home Affairs Funds.
